Kinepict is a leading innovator in developing imaging technology for blood flow parameter examination, which supports decision-making in endovascular interventions. This innovation facilitates cost-efficiencies to hospitals, cath labs, and physicists across the globe.

Kinepict’s minimally invasive endovascular interventions play an integral role in the modern health care systems, as they reduce the risk and significantly shorten the hospitalization of patients. These techniques are widely used in the treatment of cardiovascular disorders (the leading cause of death in western societies), oncological disorders, and other tissue proliferative states (like myoma or prostate hypertrophy). Additionally, key interventions such as angiographic examinations are required for the diagnosis of pathological states and to determine the efficacy of the overall treatment.

Kinepicts’ best-in-class software technology is the ‘Digital Variance Angiography’ (DVA), which outperforms the currently mainstream used Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA). DVA provides an improved signal-to-noise ratio and superior image quality. This real-time decision support for the interventional physician in the operating room allows a very substantial reduction of radiation dose (at least by 70%) and contrast agent volume (at least by 50%), thereby the safety of interventions is increased whereas the costs are reduced.

The Kinepict software can be used in both types of endovascular intervention; restorative and embolization procedures. While the restorative interventions aim to resolve the stenosis and occlusions of sclerotic arteries in order to restore the circulation and blood supply of tissues, the embolization procedures reduce or suspend the blood supply of pathological areas (tumors, hyperplastic tissues) in order to reduce or eliminate the pathology. In both types, there is a change in the blood flow (increase or decrease) compared to the pre-interventional states, and the extent of this change defines the efficacy of the intervention. In many cases, the outcome can be judged only retrospectively after the operation, and a repeated session might be necessary to achieve optimal results. By the use of hemodynamic parameters, the physicians might decide in real-time at the operating table, whether the intervention was successful or not, and can continue the procedure in one session until the desired result is reached.

With the use of Kinepict software, repeated intervention can be avoided, resulting in a substantial reduction of health care costs and improved quality of life for the patients.
